If you smell gas, you should:
- Call the gas emergency services: Call the free, 24-hour National Gas Emergency Services hotline on 0800 111 999.
- Evacuate the property: Leave the property immediately and move calmly and quickly outside.
- Avoid igniting the gas: Do not turn on or off any electrical switches, smoke, or strike matches.
- Open doors and windows: Open all doors and windows to ventilate the property.
- Open doors manually: If there are any electrical security entry phones or locks, open doors manually.
- Don’t re-enter: Don’t go back inside until the emergency services have given you the all-clear.
